Our Commitment to Spiritual and Academic Excellence
At Iqra International School, we believe in nurturing not only the intellect but also the spirit. Our commitment extends beyond the classroom to foster the spiritual growth of our students. The journey of Hifdh (memorization) of the Quran is a testament to this dedication.
“Dastarbandi” is a profound and revered ceremony that marks the culmination of our students’ Hifdh journey. This event serves as a solemn recognition of their tireless efforts and unwavering devotion to the Quran.
Key Aspects of Our Dastarbandi Ceremony:
Turban Tying: Central to the Dastarbandi ceremony is the act of tying a turban around the head of the Hafiz or Hafiza (male and female Quran memorizers). This act symbolizes the transition into a role of authority, respect, and spiritual leadership within the community.
Prayers and Blessings: Throughout the ceremony, we offer heartfelt prayers and blessings, invoking divine guidance, protection, and success for our Hafiz and Hafiza as they continue their spiritual journey.
Community Witness: Dastarbandi is a communal affair attended by parents, teachers, fellow students, and members of our extended community. It is a moment for all to witness and celebrate this remarkable achievement.
Gifts and Offerings: As a gesture of appreciation and support, attendees often bring gifts, tokens, or contributions for the Hafiz and Hafiza. These offerings signify the community’s recognition of their dedication and accomplishments.
Feasting and Celebrations: The ceremony is traditionally followed by a joyous feast, where attendees come together to celebrate, share in the blessings, and extend their heartfelt congratulations.
